Old wiring out, new wiring in and your house put back properly

Full & Partial House Rewires

Fuse box still full of old screw-in fuses? Cables in rubber or fabric? A lot of the terraced and 1930s housing around St Helens is on wiring that has done its time. A rewire is the biggest electrical job a house ever gets, so it is worth planning properly. We walk round with you room by room before a single cable is lifted and agree where every socket, switch and light should go.

Floors get sheeted, walls get chased cleanly and everything is made good afterwards. The whole installation is tested at the end and you get the full test results in writing. You also get a clear day-by-day plan up front, so you always know what is happening and when.

Rewire questions, answered

How much does a full rewire cost?

Every house is different, so we price each rewire after seeing the property. You get one fixed price in writing before any work starts, so nothing grows on the invoice.

How long does a full rewire take?

One to two weeks for a typical three-bed house, depending on size and whether you are living in it. You get a day-by-day plan before we start so you can work around it.

Can we stay in the house during a rewire?

Usually yes. We work room by room and keep the power on overnight wherever we can. Some jobs are quicker and cheaper with the house empty. We will tell you honestly which yours is.

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

The usual signs are a fuse box with rewireable fuses, fabric or rubber cables, warm or loose sockets and only one or two sockets per room. An EICR will tell you for certain. We will never talk you into a rewire you do not need.
